What's On and What's New at AMT . . .
March 2025 - AMT continue to support good causes
We're at it again.......!
Team AMT continue to support National and Local causes and this week we're proud to be supporting two great causes, Red Nose Day on Friday 21st March and also Neurodiversity Celebration Week.
February 2025 – Staying ahead with the latest technology
Yay…! we’ve recently taken delivery of a new bank of laptops and programmable robots…! Staying up to date with the latest technology and equipment is so important to us at AMT.
Using modern technology for our learning packages helps support personalised learning, allowing our learners to progress at their own pace and according to their individual needs. It also allows us to effectively continue delivering our accredited courses and qualifications in Computer Science and to do it safely! We’ve also invested in more Assisted Technology to ensure our provision is inclusive to all learners.
December 2024
Team AMT got into the Christmas spirit this week by getting all creative at St James's C of E Junior & Infants School. Pupils enjoyed creating their own festive decorations and a fabulous time was had by everyone who attended. AMT were delighted to make a donation to the school from every creative piece of artwork made.

AMT continue to support good causes
It’s been a busy time for Team AMT recently supporting great causes such as Children in Need, The Kindness Challenge and getting involved with Anti-bullying Week.
During our sessions this week we’ve taken some time out to talk about the Kindness Challenge and what our learners can do to be kind to someone. Each learner talked about a particular act of kindness they were going to carry out. Whether our children play a game with a new friend or help someone with homework, it all helps create a better world.
We think our learners are just FAB!

BCS Level 2 - Thinking as a Coder Award (Starts September 2024)
We're launching a new online weekly live British Computer Society (BCS) course to start in September 2024, and will run until April 2025. The Award is primarily aimed at those looking to enter the digital world and to progress their digital journey, but it's also for anyone who has a general interest in Coding and would like to learn more.
The Award is a Level 2 - Thinking as a Coder. It has been developed in conjunction with the ICDL and covers the key concepts involved in creating a program to testing and debugging program. You will learn computational thinking abilities and the skills needed to code simple computer programs. Computational thinking is useful in many contexts, not just programming and software development, and coding is becoming the new standard of literacy, with skills used in areas as varied as art and design, engineering, data analysis and science.
If Thinking as a Coder is a course you'd like to explore further, or indeed any other AMT courses then why not get in touch today.

NSPCC Childhood Day Mile - YAY, we did It !!!
Team AMT (Little Legs) successfully achieved their ‘Going the Extra Mile’ challenge in aid
of the NSPCC national flagship Childhood Day Mile.
The team completed their Childhood Day Mile by doing an egg and spoon walk near to
the AMT accredited tuition centre in Durkar, Wakefield.
We had fun attempting to keep the eggs on our spoons and I’m pleased to say that
although the eggs had seen better days by the time we completed the mile, they all
made it, albeit a little battered, bruised and cracked!!
WELL DONE TEAM AMT (Little Legs) !!

ASPIRING MINDS TUITION - WE’RE GOING THE ‘EXTRA MILE’ FOR THE NSPCC!
Team AMT are often seen going the extra mile to make sure our learners get the best educational, well-being and creative support that we can offer.
Today marks the annual NSPCC’s national flagship Childhood Day and our Team AMT (Little Legs) will be limbering up to take part in an egg and spoon walk where they’ll be attempting to walk for one mile without dropping their eggs in order to help raise funds in support of this great charity. Chatting to the team earlier today they all said they were ‘Egg-cited’ to be taking part and were convinced they would have a ‘Cracking’ time doing their mile walk!!
AMT are huge supporters of charitable causes and we’re proud to be doing our bit to support a day of fundraising and action that brings communities together and gives everyone a way to help our keep
children safe.
Half a million children suffer abuse or neglect each year in the UK. That means 7 children
in a classroom experience abuse before they turn 18. This is an incredible worrying
statistic and totally unacceptable. Child abuse has no place in childhood.
SO……if you’re taking part in the NSPCC 2024 Childhood Day then we hope you have a
great day and raise lots of funds for this great cause, and together, let’s all do our bit to
help protect our children.

Thousands of Children are Being Turned Away from School . . !
There’s been plenty of news coverage this week, especially by leading cable news networks, focusing on children with special educational needs like Autism, and the struggles parents and carers are having to find schools who will accept them. Mainstream schools are turning away children with special educational needs, like Autism, because they don’t have the funding or resources to help support them, and so are having to make some very difficult choices.
As a consequence, parents and carers are increasingly turning to unregistered alternative providers who are accepting unplaced children.
This is an escalating problem. Currently there are 8,400 children who receive government funding for EOTAS (Education Other Than at School). It’s also estimated there are 1.5 million children who have special educational needs, that’s up by 8,400 since 2022 and with only a fraction of new places being made available to accommodate the growing need, this is an issue which isn’t going to go away anytime soon!
Here at Aspiring Minds Tuition, we believe ‘every’ child, irrespective of their personal circumstances and/or educational needs is entitled to receive the quality and level of education they deserve.
We are committed to ensuring our knowledge, teaching practices and tuition packages are tailored to reflect the needs of ‘all’ our learners, and pride ourselves in delivering special educational needs tuition, such as autism, in a friendly environment in which they can learn.
