MAKING THE NEWS THIS WEEK!
There’s been plenty of news coverage this week, especially by leading cable news networks, focusing on children with special educational needs like Autism, and the struggles parents and carers are having to find schools who will accept them. Mainstream schools are turning away children with special educational needs, like Autism, because they don’t have the funding or resources to help support them, and so are having to make some very difficult choices.
As a consequence, parents and carers are increasingly turning to unregistered alternative providers who are accepting unplaced children.
This is an escalating problem. Currently there are 8,400 children who receive government funding for EOTAS (Education Other Than at School). It’s also estimated there are 1.5 million children who have special educational needs, that’s up by 8,400 since 2022 and with only a fraction of new places being made available to accommodate the growing need, this is an issue which isn’t going to go away anytime soon!
Here at Aspiring Minds Tuition, we believe ‘every’ child, irrespective of their personal circumstances and/or educational needs is entitled to receive the quality and level of education they deserve.
We are committed to ensuring our knowledge, teaching practices and tuition packages are tailored to reflect the needs of ‘all’ our learners, and pride ourselves in delivering special educational needs tuition, such as autism, in a friendly environment in which they can learn.
